The perks of rolling with us

You’re not just a number to us, but a person we genuinely look forward to connecting with. We love people; they’re what make us tick and, as it turns out, our people are alot alike. Our clients become our friends, and our friends become your friends.

We lead with the confidence of a decade of experience. You’re in the qualified company of skilled cyclists, guides, and mechanics. We speak Italian, we know the roads and, before anything else, we’ve got your back.

Heart-centered service is what you deserve and heart-centered service is what you shall get. We’re in it with heart and soul, because how else would we do this thing we’re honored to call work? It matters that kindness, consideration and good times prevail.

We host trips we love and quite frankly want to experience ourselves. It’s our hidden sixth gear, and it’s why we’re downright nerdy about details and logistics. Running buttery smooth trips isn’t clockwork, it’s our artform.

Your bike is safe with us. We’re cyclists with emotional connections to our bikes, too. We get that you care about your bike and we’ll treat it with the utmost TLC. We choose hotels and villas that have a secure bike room and proven experience in delivering a high-quality service.

Thriving in Italy is all about who you know. Building relationships takes time and effort and when you’re with us, our contacts are yours. If they aren’t good or passionate enough about what they do, we won’t be there.

FAQ

How far in advance should we book?

The best places in Italy get booked first and fast, the sooner you’re sure, the more choice you’ll have. Start by writing me a rough idea for your trip, and I’ll get back to you with a ball-park estimate. If you decide to go ahead, you’ll get a trip proposal priced per person. A €500 pp deposit will secure your booking with the remainder due 60 days before the start of the trip.

Should we bring bikes?

It's entirely up to you whether you bring your bike, we'll build it, maintain it, and box it while you're here. Otherwise, we have two types of bike rentals: ultegra mechanical and di2/eTap electronic shifting.

About how much will it cost?

Consider the level of service, group size and attention to detail as a price scale. Week-long self-guided trips for six or more people typically start at €2400 per person and fully supported trips at €3400.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Bespoke trips are final and non-refundable but fully transferable. If your plans unexpectedly change, send a friend or a group of friends on your exact trip.

Lucca-CC-Sanderson

Never go back…that’s what they say, keep the memories and move on.

But we did.

Alison had guided two discreet rides for us last year and we had loved it. But surely then time to go back to Mallorca, seek out the Dolomites, rediscover the longer climbs of the Alps? But we were hooked. The food and the beauty of Tuscany and the everything sorted philosophy of Alison. So we agreed with her a Lucca, Florence, Siena, Lucca circular route, persuaded other friends to join in the fun and got on our bikes April 2019. We were not disappointed. It was a trip that needed logistics to be spot on, and everything was. By the end Alison was even understanding our very English humour.

Highlights were the amazing pasta stops that kept us fuelled and Alison’s quiet determination to keep us safe and moving. Tuscany was the winner.

If riding in Italy is on your bucket list you can’t go wrong exploring the hills and roads around Lucca with Alison.

The trip exceeded all expectations.

Alison is not only a very accomplished rider, but her quiet confidence and ability to listen to any concern make you feel heard. You know she will not lead you down a road you cannot handle. At the same time, she knew when to push the limits and help you ride harder than you realized you could.

As a group of three couples with slightly different fitness levels, we quickly learnt that between Alison and her second guide, Jon, everyone was taken care of.

Her knowledge of the best routes is astonishing. We experienced breathtaking views, beautiful little villages, and delicious lunch and cafe stops along our tour - the only thing we had to do was ride.

It's the perfect Italian adventure for every bike enthusiast!
